John Rankine Opening Reception

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Eureka Springs May Festival of the Arts, artist and photographer John Rankine will show a retrospective exhibit of his Eureka Springs artist portrait series at Brews this May. The 2004 series consists of 60-framed photographs depicting 75 local artists. The series was first shown at Eleanor Lux Studio and was purchased by art patrons Elise and the late Marty Roenigk. The Art of Acadian Weaving Class

The Shoppes at Fleece 'N Flax will have a guest weaving instructor, Melissa Weaver Dunning, a master hand weaver from Virginia, who will be teaching a class on The Art of Acadian Weaving, the weaving traditions of French Canada and Louisiana. This class will be May 11 and 12, 9am to 4pm both days. The weaving studio will also be open during the month of May for visitors to observe weavers at work and purchase locally created handwoven items.
